We Are Currently Open to New Submissions In Limited Genres
Email Queries ONLY
Effective January 10, 2010
Del Fantasma
These are paranormal romance stories set in the Del Fantasma bar in Vista Loma, California. See our site for more information or email the submissions address below for additional information.
Horror
We are seeking quality horror stories along the lines of Stephen King.
Gay (M/M) Romances
We are looking for conflict driven stories past "coming out" that deal with real situations. Satisfying ending required.
This is our number one seller at present. These stories do not have to be graphic or explicit
Erotic Romances
With a wide variety of sub-genres to choose from, we expect these stories to encompass the very best of erotica paired with a real plot and characters we can care about from page one. Kink factors add to the appeal of this market especially BDSM, menage that involves two men, and multi-cultural mixes.
Submission Guidelines
Aspen Mountain Press is an e-book, royalty paying publisher. We do not charge fees for set up, or charge for editing your story once it has been accepted for publication. Our contracts request rights to the contracted work, including digital and print formats as we will provide some of our titles in print later this year.
Aspen Mountain Press is seeking stories in all genres. Please know we will not accept manuscripts that encourage racial / religious intolerance, illegal acts, or abuse. Beginning with a minimum word count of 20k and extending to 90k creative, unusual, well-written stories that draw the reader into your world will garner our attention. We especially like tales that cross genres; for example a science-fiction mystery.
We only contract COMPLETED manuscripts and do not accept proposals from authors unknown to us.
Previously published stories will be accepted only if author owns all print and electronic rights.
We are specifically seeking:
ROMANCE - Cross-genre love stories: a love story, plus significant elements of another genre that may include alternative lifestyles. These may range from sweet romances to hot erotica. No porn please! Romances need to have conflict and resolution
WESTERNS - primarily with an American setting after the American Civil War and contemporary cowboy romance stories. We would really love to see a "cowboy and Native American" romance with sexy elements.
Multi-Cultural/Interracial - We're not interested in angst here. We want bonifide romances and other genres where culture and race are a part of the fabric of the tale. No stereotyping please. We want to present members of all cutures in a positive light.
MYSTERY: from cozy to thriller to hard-boiled PI’s.
HORROR: Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Alfred Hitchcock style stories are what we’re seeking.
All heat levels are considered at Aspen Mountain Press in all genres.
