You Are Rum

You’re the life of the party, and a total flirt.
You are also pretty picky about what you drink.
Only the finest labels and best mixed cocktails will do.
Except if you’re dieting - then it’s Diet Coke and Bicardi all the way.

What Alcoholic Drink Are You?

Don’t be shy, try this quiz and then post your response on the Aspen Mountain Press yahoo loop. We have a whole series featuring alcoholic drinks…maybe yours will show up as one of the Del Fantasma titles…

So far we have:
Texas Tea
Sea Breeze
Screaming Orgasm
Undertow
Slow Fuzzy Screw
and Black Wolf

This week, our drink of the month is Silk Panties, number seven in the series set in a paranormal bar just outside San Diego in the fictional Vista Loma area.

I don’t know how many of you can appreciate this small feat if you aren’t an author…but, hitting the first page of your category at Fictionwise is a pretty big deal J

Today in the erotica section, JM Snyder’s Working Man: Makin’ Copies is #6 (one more and she’ll be in that little yellow note card box at the top of every erotica page!) and Jade Buchanan’s Del Fantasma: Black Wolf is #11.  Black Wolf is also currently #1 in total sales over all categories at All Romance Ebooks.

Aspen Mountain routinely has several titles in the top 100 and a bunch in the top 10% (there are more than 4400 titles in erotica alone)

#62  Forget the Mistletoe by Lizzie T. Leaf

#149 Death of a Blues Angel by Sarah Black*

#206 Snowball in Hell by Josh Lanyon*

#311 Working Man: Easily Addicted by JM Snyder*

#335 Scarred by JM Snyder*

#371 Working Man: Summer Kisses and Ice Cream Dreams*

#432 Working Man: Opening Day at the County Fair*

Congratulations on the wonderful showing  at Fictonwise authors!

Ms. Rivers has also gifted Aspen Mountain Press with SlickerThis story, a part of the Plain Brown Wrapper series follows one day in the life of Tavey, a repressed accountant, dragged to an office party against her will.  Known for her frumpy attire, she has nothing festive to wear to a fun gathering of her co-workers.  That is, until she discovers the red slicker in her closet.  Can she make the old raincoat into an attractive outfit?  Will it be enough to make her boss think of keeping her on in her current position?  To read an excerpt of Slicker click here.

Shattered Legacy is Ms. Rivers’s foray into the world of mystery and was her very first release with Aspen Mountain Press.  This erotic thriller will keep you on the edge of your seat, wondering how Hillary and Sean will solve the murders at St. Catherine’s before the killer strikes again.

Coffee Time Romance gave Shattered Legacy 4 cups saying, “The reader knows who the murderer is from the start, but the whys and the sucker punch at the very end make for shocking twists and turns on every page. For those who like a whodunit with a twist, this is a definite must read. ” Charissa

This past week at Aspen Mountain Press two releases help us remember the World War II era.  The first, No Apologies by J.M. Snyder, takes us back to the weekend of December 7th, 1941 and the bombing of Pearl Harbor.  Two men on the U.S.S. Oklahoma cross an invisible boundary line when a stolen kiss in a drunken moment leads to unexpected tensions.  Can their friendship be restored before the Japanese obliterate Battleship Row?

Josh Lanyon’s Snowball in  Hell has us reliving the glory days of Hollywood complete with rationing stamps and chickory coffee.  Lt. Mathew Spain is called to investigate the murder of one of Hollywood’s elite and the journalist following the case looks like the prime suspect.

Nathan Doyle is struggling with his homosexuality.  He’s sought help from professionals but the stress is becoming too much.  Trysts carried out in a wooded park are becoming dangerous and he feels he’s losing his mind.  Especially when his mind keeps going back to a sexy investigator who could in no way be interested in him that way.

Now the problem is surviving long enough to find the murderer.

No Apologies

Nothing says “cops” better than a badge and gun and the November release of Arresting Developments is one good example.  Three stories of gay police officers and how they find their love interests written by James Buchanan, L. Picaro and Josh Lanyon.

In Josh Lanyon’s In a Dark Wood, our hunky cop hero, Luke takes his new love interest camping for their first date…only Luke seems to have alterior motives including finding the Forrester, a monster in the Barrens…and one that Tim meet a long time ago.

In L. Picaro’s Gamble Everything, a former porn star is trying to forget his past, only someone is intent on reminding him of what he’s left behind.

Finally, a Coyote Crossing has two former acquaintances on opposite sides of the law.  James Buchanan weaves an intriguing story of missed opportunities and misinterpretations concealed by time and clever deceptions.

When Aine is followed by a couple of thugs, Adhamh rushes to protect her. What he doesn’t expect is the flare of desire and vague sense of familiarity he feels in her presence. Given the choice of his own heart’s desire, finding the person who turned him into one of the living dead, or staying with Aine, Adhamh finds the decision isn’t as easy as he thought it would be.

The Game by Jeanne Barrack
A trip to his grandparents’ cabin for some quiet alone time to get to know Sheri better is all Dave wants. He doesn’t expect the company of their roommates, Frank and Marci. Follow Dave and Sheri as they learn more about each other and their cabin mates while they play “Strip Dreidle” to while away their time and engage in some extraordinary sexual adventures.

Kayleigh doesn’t expect to find love with an ancient spirit, but how, oh how, is she to keep loving him when he’s banished from her realm for months at a time, with no hope of communication?

A US Magistrate Judge has protected the privacy of countless individuals when he refused to allow federal prosecutors access to Amazon.com purchase records. Judge Stephen Crocker ruled  the First Amendment affirms a citizens’ right to keep reading habits private.

The judge said, “…investigation into the reading habits of Amazon’s customers could frighten countless potential customers into canceling planned online book purchases.” Additionally, “The subpoena is troubling because it permits the government to peek into the reading habits of specific individuals without their knowledge or permission…. It is an unsettling and un-American scenario to envision federal agents nosing through the reading lists of law-abiding citizens while hunting for evidence against somebody else.”

Score one for the good guys.  One doesn’t have to be liberal or conservative to appreciate the protection of an individual’s privacy over legal purchases.
